How to install PIR133 with the bootable hard disk drive connected to the PIR133 card?
A:
If you want to boot the system from the HD connected to the PIR 133 card, you have to install Windows to that HD. Before starting the installation, you have to make a floppy disk driver. You should copy the folder, 571B under MultiIO; or the folder, SIL680RAID, under Silicon Image. It depends on which driver CD came with your PIR 133 card, since we have 2 different versions of CD. Then you connect the HD to the card and start the computer. Before you can load into Windows, you need to press F3 in the BIOS to go to the RAID setup menu and set up the RAID you want. Then you have to install Windows. During the installation, in the very beginning, press F6 to let the system to take the driver from you and insert the driver floppy disk you made. Keep finish up installing Windows afterwards. |
